چکیده
Abstract Background Crohn’s disease (CD) can involve the upper gastrointestinal (GI) tract as well small and large bowel. PillCam colon capsule endoscopy (PCCE-2) enables observation of whole GI tract, but its diagnostic yield for CD lesions in remains unknown. Aim To elucidate PCCE-2 patients with CD. Methods Patients who underwent double-balloon (DBE) using oral anal approaches were evaluated tract. We divided bowel into three segments (jejunum, ileum, terminal ileum), four (right colon, transverse left rectum). Detection ulcer scars, erosion, ulcers, bamboo joint-like appearance, notch-like appearance was assessed each segment. The analyzed based on DBE results gold standard. Results Of total 124 segments, sensitivities ulcers 83.3%, 93.8%, 88.5%, respectively, specificities 76.0%, 78.3%, 81.6%, respectively. For 60 84.2%, 95.5%, 90.0%, 63.4%, 86.8%, 87.5%, 64 80.0%, 84.7%, 72.2%, 77.6%, Conclusion provides a high Thus, we recommend use pan-enteric tool clinical settings.

BACKGROUND Small bowel capsule endoscopy represents the initial investigation for obscure gastrointestinal bleeding. Flexible spectral imaging colour enhancement (FICE) is a virtual chromoendoscopy technique designed to enhance mucosal lesions, available in different settings according to light wavelength-- FICE1, 2 and 3. AIMS To compare the diagnostic yield of FICE1 and white light during c...

ing. If done early in the course of the work-up, CE shortens the time to diagnosis and spares a number of alternative investigations with lower diagnostic yield. Taken together this seems appealing to doctors. A somewhat puzzling fact is that, in the majority of studies done so far for established indications, in only a small proportion of patients does CE have a real impact on the clinical out...

Background and study aims Since the introduction of open-access esophago-gastroduodenoscopy (OAE) there is an increase in the total number of performed OAEs whilst the frequency of clinical relevant findings has decreased. The aim of this study was to assess the appropriate use and the diagnostic yield of OAE in the Netherlands and to determine which patient variables are able to predict a mal...
